Rare Beer Tapping at Meddlesome Moth

posted on May 24, 2010 in Special Events, The Moth

This Wednesday at 5 PM we will be tapping a cask of Ska Nefarious Ten Pin (Easter) Porter for you to enjoy.

Nefarious Ten Pin Porter

The  ”Easter” porter has some special priming sugar to reinvigorate the active yeast cells in the firkin. See below….

Never has this beer been seen outside of Durango and we have procured this special firkin for the beer savvy peeps that have been coming down to The Moth. This beer will not last the night, so come down early. I will be there to share a pint with you.

Best,
Keith

Moth Cask Tapping

posted on May 12, 2010 in The Moth

Thursday at 5 PM we begin selling some prized juice from Ska Brewing Company out of Durango, CO.

On the canning line - Ska

I love the beers they make and the entire team at Ska make it fun to support the brand. I’m working on getting them into the Moth for a beer dinner in the fall. We’ve got a few casks in the cellar and you’ll have to come see what we are pouring at 5 Thursday. Could be the award winning Nefarious Ten Pin (Easter) Porter or might be the redunkulously Dry Hopped Modus Hoperandi. See you there at 5 to get the first pour.

Next week, we will begin tapping on Wednesdays…….

Cheers – Keith

Tonight at 7 PM – we begin serving the Oaked Cask of Arrogant Bastard. The boys at Stone were kind enough to share this liquid with us. I tasted it today…. and am wearing some actually. It’s pretty fantastic. I think the Stone “army” is heading out so be sure to stop by in the next 48 hours if you want some.

Firkin tappings each Thursday at the Moth – 7 PM. If you have not been and you want to see inside, click here.

Photos inside Moth

I hope you will make the trip to see this place. On the first day a few bloggers came to check it out and you can see some photos by clicking here.

I am happy to report that when I look across the dining room, I see glasses of beer on the table tops and few martinis. The feedback on the food has been great and chef Chad Kelley has at least 50 more menu items to release as we progress. Most of these items will be in the form of nightly specials and all of them go really well with beer. We plan on releasing a lunch version mid May as we will begin opening at 11 AM. For now, we open at 4 PM daily.

The menus are posted on our temporary website.

Monthly beer tastings will begin in June.
